The group – which is currently has 24 members, commemorated the anniversary at Sheene Mill, with special guest Sally Kingman, the Cambridgeshire Federation Chairman.

Secretary Gail Jones said: “The evening was brilliant everyone had a fantastic time. Although this was a special evening we do go out once a month for our Supper Club which everyone enjoys too.

“Our current membership is 24 and our longest serving member has been with Shepreth WI since 1963, with other long serving members dating from 1978, 1985, 1986, 1987, with new members joining as recently as 2016.”

The group meets every second Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm in Shepreth Village Hall for activities including craft demonstrations and games evenings. They sometimes have speakers, two of the most notable were South Cambs MP Heidi Allen MP and Suzanne Hart, the daughter of Call the Midwife author Jennifer Worth.
