A Shepreth artist has described how the daunting moment of putting his ‘heart and soul on the wall for people to judge’ has paid off with the numerous commissions since his exhibition at The Plough.

Sam Harris, 26, has already sold nine pieces off the wall from his first ever solo exhibition and had various commissions come in for his quirky and colourful artwork.

Sam, who studied graphic design at university, said: “It’s amazing how successful it’s been, everyone has been giving me great feedback. It’s really given me a boost. I need to get business cards, the ball has started rolling.”

There are a lot of bold bright Cambridge scenes, of popular destinations such as Green Street, as well as some of Shepreth.

Pupils from his former school Melbourn Village College even came along to pay him a visit. He said: It was really nice to talk to them about everything and to see my old teachers. I said ‘keep having fun with the art’. My education at Melbourn Village College definitely helped.”
