TEACHERS and pupils at Bassingbourn Primary School could be forgiven for thinking that they are seeing double - the school has four sets of twins.

Joseph and Lucas Hockley, Kimberley and Leanne Thompson, Imogen and Olivia Sole, and Annabel and Rebecca Churcher, all five, have just started their second year at the school.

Amanda Banks, class teacher to three of the sets of twins, said: "I've never seen anything like this before.

"I think it's been a good experience for the children - they've been able to share the differences in their home lives.

"For example, some share their toys, while others have things of their own.

"I get them the wrong way round quite often.

"The other children in the class know who's who, so they usually give me some help."

Kimberley and Leanne's mum Wendy Thompson has come up with a good way to help their teacher, Mrs Hume, spot the difference between the identical pair.

She said: "Leanne and Kimberley wear different coloured hair bands - Kimberley has pink and Leanne wears lilac.
