IN conjunction with the Scouting centenary, a group of parents and children are seeking a leader for a much-needed club.
Melbourn and Meldreth has been without a Beaver, Cub and Scout group for some time, and after investigation, research has shown a strong demand for the groups.
Parent John Belodis said: "It would be great to see scouting back in Melbourn and Meldreth.
"This is a call to action and we hope someone will come forward."
With plenty of interested youngsters, the district commissioner of the Granta region, Michael Rolfe, will be visiting Melbourn to talk to children and parents about what is involved in setting a group up.
# The meeting will take place on Tuesday May 8 at Melbourn Primary School, 3pm.
Anyone interested in the group, be it as a leader or a supporter, should contact melbournscouts@hotmail.co.uk
