PARENTS have been getting involved with lessons at a Royston school.

Roman Way First School recently held a curriculum week, which saw pupils invite their parents to come into school and participate in lessons from across the curriculum.

Headteacher Emma Chapman said: "We provided activities in a variety of subjects based on a theme, to help to show parents a little bit about our theme-based curriculum and how we teach through cross-curricular links.

"There has been a lot of positive feedback from children, parents and staff. Parents and children have enjoyed the experience and the chance to work together on the variety of activities."

The pupils have also been busy preparing their entries for a recycling competition.

Organised by the Supporters of Roman Way group, the children have been decorating and disguising old plastic bottles.

Miss Chapman said: "The entries were of an amazingly high quality and originality. The children have told me how much fun they had making them, and some even had bottle design parties where they could decorate their bottles together.
