SCHOOLCHILDREN from a Crow Country have joined the fight to slow motorists coming through their village.
Three pupils’ designs, from Barkway First School, will be hung on banners and will be used as part of the town’s community speedwatch programme.
Dr Bob Davidson, chairman of the parish council, said: “Since the Speedwatch started, we have definitely seen a reduction in vehicles speeding through the village.
“We don’t expect to stop all cars from going too fast but think adults might take the message more seriously when they see how serious the children are about it.”
Community Speed Watch is a scheme where members of the public measure the speed of vehicles and pass on information to Hertfordshire Constabulary, who then act on it.
The winning work of Lucy Cockerton, Annie Jordan and Oscar Berry will be displayed for all to see.
