Students across the three Royston Schools Academy Trust sites have come together for a PSHE Day all about safety.

RSAT governs Roysia and Greneway middle schools and Meridian School, all of which now have the same headteacher and are proposed to merge into one through school from September 2019.

For the PSHE day, middle school pupils spent time on a range of activities on the theme of safety.

Year 6 spent some time with PCSO Ashley Armstrong finding out more about safety when out on the streets.

Members of Herts Fire and Rescue Service worked alongside Year 8 showing them some basic first aid and introducing the idea of a fire plan.

On the Meridian site, Year 9s had sessions on SEAL, bullying, actions and consequences, managing stress and revision techniques.

Year 10s looked at disability rights, anti-social behaviour, rights and responsibilities – in a session about standing up to bullies – responding to situations and careers.

Year 11s looked at the workings of the criminal justice system and issues around punishment, sex education – focusing on contraception, STDs and consent – and finished with a careers session.
