A nursery teacher says it is a joy to have worked with such a dedicated team of volunteers after staff from Tesco Extra in Royston sorted a pre-school paint job.
Armed with brushes and bags of goodwill, Mandy Jinkerson – community champion for Tesco in the town – was joined by five members of staff at the store who worked tirelessly to paint Layston Pre-School and Nursery CIC in Buntingford.
They took time to paint the children’s toilet area and the classroom, going over orange paintwork that hadn’t been decorated since the 1960s.
Mel Taylor from the nursery said: “I couldn’t believe the transformation when the job was finished.
“The room is now bright and fresh. It’s fantastic. It is a joy for me to have worked with such dedicated and talented people, it was really worthwhile.”
