School students in Royston have worked together to create Christmas hampers for families needing the town’s foodbank.
Staff said the students at Meridian School in Garden Walk put an ‘enormous amount of effort’ into the project, receiving many donations from fellow students, staff and their families and organising the donations into festive hampers.
These hampers are in addition to the usual three days of emergency food supplied by the food bank to help families celebrate Christmas together.
Staff said it has been fantastic to see students working so hard to support the community for a second year in a row.
Royston Foodbank is a registered charity run totally by volunteers from our community for the benefit of those in need within a seven-mile radius of Royston town centre.
