A disabled child from Therfield is one step closer to getting a £20,000 electric wheelchair which will allow her to stand thanks to a fundraising effort from a local scout group.
The 10th Royston Scout Group completed a 25-mile cycle through Therfield, Sandon, Ashwell, Steeple Morden, Bassingbourn and Melbourn before returning to Royston to help raise funds to pay for the chair for young Courtney Copeland.
They raised £712.51 for their efforts and presented the cheque to Courtney in person.
The six-year-old has spinal muscular atrophy, a neuromuscular condition causing a weakness of the muscles which prevents her being able to walk.
