Royston Scouts are putting themselves on show at the town’s museum.

The team are planning to showcase the history of scouting in the town, along with what the future might hold for the group, at an exhibition opening at the Royston Museum on Saturday.

The museum secured funding for a community cabinet for anyone with a story to tell or a collection to share.

With guidance from museum staff on how best to display objects, participants can use either their own collections or search the museum’s to find the best way to share their story.

Items on display in the scouts’ exhibition will include those once owned by George Folly, who was instrumental in converting the Baptist church in Barkway Street to a scout headquarters and the only person in Royston to have received a Silver Wolf service award.

There will be refreshments available between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday and the exhibition runs until April 4.

Anyone can get involved with the community cabinet project so if you have a story to tell, get in touch with Amy Judd at
