A pair of Royston 14-year-olds have received the highest accolade in scouting.
George Adam and William Mitchell, of the First Royston Scout Troop, were presented with the Chief Scout’s Gold Award by Royston district commissioner of scouting Geoff Kavanagh.
In order to receive the prestigious award the boys had to complete seven out of nine scouting challenge badges.
Troop leader Chris Lennox-Smith said: “The troop has now given out seven Gold Awards in the last year.
“These boys have worked very hard to get to their goal and are a real credit to the troop.”
In order to complete their badges the scouts were tested on aspects of fitness, creativity, outdoor skills, global awareness and work in the community. For more information on the scouting advitities visit the website at www.1stroystonscoutgroup.org.
