A ROYSTON school has received a prestigious technology award.

MP Oliver Heald presented St Mary's school with the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (BECTA) award, which recognises the standard of technology learning.

St Mary's has been named as one of six "golden schools" in the county when it comes to IT.

Mr Heald said: "I was very impressed by the lead being given by St Mary's to schools throughout the county.

"For a small primary to gain this award is outstanding and a tribute to the hard work of the staff and pupils," he said.
