To celebrate the 200th anniversary of the publication of Walter Scott’s bestseller Rob Roy, author Graham Palmer is giving a free talk on the Scottish folk hero at Royston’s district museum.
Graham has been researching Rob Roy for an upcoming book and claims the real man was far more complicated than the myth portrayed in the movies.
The Royton writer said: “I’m looking forward to exploding a few lies and might even be persuaded to reveal a previously untold local connection!”
The talk – at 11am on Saturday, September 15 – is linked to a pop-up exhibition of Rob Roy memorabilia at the museum, on from September 13 to October 6.
