The team at Royston's district museum have said they are thrilled to have once again been accredited by the Arts Council - and celebrated with a cream tea.
Friends of the museum, volunteers and supporters, joined curator Jenny Oxley and museum assistant Amy Judd for a celebratory tea party.
Museum accreditation is a continuous improvement scheme for museums, run nationally by the Arts Council – Royston originally gained its accreditation in 2012.
The process enables museums to assess their current performance, and the council supports them to plan and develop their services going forward.
Among other things, having accreditation enables to be able to apply for various funding streams to enable us to develop further.
Jenny said: “We’re really thrilled to have achieved our accreditation renewal, and particularly pleased that the Arts Council recognised in their feedback that ‘there has been a clear shift in focus to make the museum more active and inclusive, with an emphasis on thriving community and long-term resilience’.”
