A YEAR of celebration has been remembered on a new DVD.

The year-long programme saw the town mark the London Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and events which took place have been recorded on the DVD Royston 2012: A Year of Celebrations, which has been distributed to pupils at schools in Royston and the surrounding villages as a momento of the festivities.

Cllr Lindsay Davidson, the mayor of Royston, was chairman of the 2012 committee.

She said: “We do hope that the students will enjoy watching all the events that took place in Royston last year to commemorate the Olympic Games, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and the 850th anniversary of the founding of Royston Priory and that it will prove to be a lasting and valued souvenir of Royston 2012: A Year of Celebrations.”
