After counting up the cash they raised at last week’s May Fayre, Royston Methodist Church has donated nearly £400 to the town’s rotary club.

The money will help towards the future running costs of Rotary’s Memory Café – a social drop-in session for anyone with memory problems and their carers.

The scheme started six months ago and is going strong, having attracted around 16 guests and nine rotarian helpers each month since opening.

David Izod, who started the café, said: “The gift will make a real difference – it’s a major contribution towards costs, and means we can plan for more and different activities in the future.

“There’s something different to do each month. Just as importantly, we also provide a bit of a break for carers. We warmly welcome every one of our guests.”

The café meets at the Old Barn in Upper King Street every second Monday of the month. For more information, call David on 07875 909731 or go to roystonrotary.com
