A retirement home still has plenty of life yet – 25 years after it welcomed its first residents.

Residents and staff at Collingwood Court on Melbourn Road in Royston celebrated the home’s 25th anniversary with a big get together on Friday afternoon.

Among those enjoying the day was 88-year-old resident, Joyce Winterbottom, who joined the home 24 years ago.

House manager Tracey Scott said: “Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the afternoon was a great success.

“We had cakes and nice drinks for everyone at the home and it was a fitting celebration.”
