Royston’s Christmas fayre takes place tomorrow (Saturday) as the town gears up for the festive season.

The event has been organised by retailers’ group Royston Means Business, and will see stalls filling the High Street from 1pm-5pm. Gifts will be on offer as well as festive food and drink, and a grotto will be open from 1pm-4pm for youngsters to meet Santa.

At 4.30pm, Royston mayor, Cllr Bob Smith, will officially switch on the town’s Christmas lights.

An ice rink will be set up in the car park of the Old Bull Inn, and tickets must be purchased in advance from the m-viron phone shop in the High Street. The rink will be open from 11am-7pm on Saturday, and 9am-5pm on Sunday.

The event is sponsored by the Royston First Business Improvement District company, as well as Curwens Solicitors, Linda Turner interiors, Putterils Estate Agents and Redrow Homes.
