Staff at a playgroup in Royston are as pleased as punch after the preschool was recognised as ‘outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Rainbow Playgroup manager Stephanie Wellstead says staff are ‘absolutely thrilled’ with the outcome after the playgroup was labelled ‘outstanding in all areas’.

An extract from the report said: “The very experienced and highly qualified manager is inspirational and leads a well qualified dedicated staff-team whose quality of teaching is outstanding.

“Children behave exceptionally well and are excited to learn in a highly stimulating indoor and outdoor area.

“The group have excellent partnerships with parents.’’
