Royston photographer dies after cancer battle

The funeral of a photographer who died following a brief battle with cancer will be held tomorrow (Friday).
Colin Clark, who owned Robert H Clark and Son on Royston’s High Street, grew up in the town and married Jane in 1982.
Mr Clark, who was 53 when he died, is survived by his wife, mother Margaret, aunt Jill, son Nick and daughter-in-law Andrea.
After attending the Meridian School in Royston, Mr Clark worked at the family business Robert H Clark and Son, where he became the proprietor in 1981.
His career involved studio and location photography for families and industrial clients.

Mr Clark’s son, Nick, said: “The standard of his work was highly regarded among other professionals in the field, and he was a member of the Master Photographers Association throughout his career, latterly holding a position on the National Executive Committee.”
He continued: “He loved sports and, in his younger years, played football, cricket and basketball competitively. He also enjoyed skiing, taking numerous trips to the Alps.

“Therfield Heath was a particularly cherished destination of his. There he played golf from childhood until the final months of his life. He also enjoyed taking leisurely walks across the heath with the family dogs.”
Mr Clark died on October 21. His funeral will be held at 2pm tomorrow (Friday) at St John the Baptist Church on Melbourn Street in Royston, followed by refreshments at Royston Golf Club. All are welcome to attend.
