Royston Town Council

The young winners of a photography competition in Royston have been presented with certificates from the town mayor.

Georgia Rose Pitt, Eleanor Marriage and Daniel Wicks, all aged eight, Daniel’s sister Hannah, 12, and 14-year-olds Sami Paul and Jessica Turner, entered the Naturally Royston competition – where they had to capture show nature scenes in and around the town.

Their winning photographs have been made into a 2018 calendar.

A town council spokeswoman said: “Judges from the Melbourn and Royston photographic societies were very impressed with the high standard of photographic entries and found it very hard to choose the winners.”

All proceeds from the sale of these calendars, which cost £5, will go to The Mayor’s Community Trust Fund, which works to help groups and charities in the area. They are on sale at No.3 Royston craft shop in Melbourn Street, the district museum and the town hall office.

The Naturally Royston group hope to hold another children’s competition next year.
