A Royston man said he wants to warn others to be on their guard after he caught someone trying to open his door with several keys in the early hours of Sunday morning.
George Mathew, who lives in King James Way, called police after hearing someone trying to open the door at 3.25am, and said there was a similar incident a few months ago across the road. The person left after he banged on the door.
He said: “We are bit worried to be truthful. It would be great if the community was a bit more vigilant about this.”
A spokeswoman for the police said: “Police were called at around 3.25am on Sunday to reports of suspicious activity at an address in King James Way.
“The occupant was given words of advice and officers in the area were made aware of the incident.”
