A Royston funeral manager is taking on a wing walk this Sunday in aid of Letchworth-based Garden House Hospice Care.

Andy Mcfadyen, who works at Newlings of Royston, is taking on this latest challenge following previous fundraising efforts on behalf of the hospice, including assault courses and fire walks.

On Sunday he will take to the skies on the wings of a plane which will reach speeds of up to 130mph.

He told the Crow: “At the moment I’m still very calm about it. When I get there and see the aeroplane the nerves will probably start to kick in.

“Garden House is a local hospice to Royston and we always like to support somewhere that needs the funds. They do a fantastic job and they need all the money they can get.”

The hospice is offering the opportunity to skydive on September 9. For more details go to ghhospicecare.org.uk.
