Royston man arrested in drugs raid

A 49-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested following a raid in which police seized more than 70 suspected cannabis plants, two bags of suspected cocaine, and a quantity of cash.

Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary carried out the raid at a property in Burrs Lane, Barkway, as part of Operation Crystal, the force’s dedicated initiative to tackling drug crime.

The man has been arrested on suspicion of production of cannabis, possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs, possession of criminal property, and abstracting electricity.

He has been released on police bail.
