Generosity and community spirit were served up in their droves this summer by eager volunteers as part of the Make Lunch initiative.
The Royston club, which dished out hearty grub for children entitled to free school meals, saw up to 13 people attend each week.
Lindsay Davidson, who was part of the team led by Cate Hall, said: “The parents have really appreciated the help and support offered by the team, together with the warm and friendly atmosphere.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful volunteers for their commitment and hard work, and also Mandy Jinkerson from Tesco and Royston Town Council for their practical support, together with our brilliant funders, North Herts District Council Royston Area Committee, The Brian Racher Trust, county councillor Fiona Hill and the Cinnamon Social Action Fund.”
There will be two further lunch club sessions in October and a party at Christmas.
