For the 11th year running, Churches Together in Royston and district are organising a Light Party for youngsters to enjoy.

The fun-packed event at Coombes Community Centre in Burns Road and will include games, craft, music, face-painting and food.

‘No tricks but lots of treats’ is the slogan of the Light Party, which is organised and run by volunteers from various churches in and around Royston.

One of the organisers, Helen Tobiss, said: “Each year it’s really encouraging to see so many children enjoying themselves in a safe environment. And it’s an opportunity for us to bring a bit of light into a dark time of year.”

There is no charge for children – who must be aged between four and 11 – attending the event, which will take place from 5.30pm this Wednesday, October 31. You can just turn up on the night but younger children will need to be accompanied by an adult.
