A ROYSTON hotel and restraunt faces prosecution for illegally erecting a marquee and refusing to take it down.
The owners of the Banyers, on Melbourn Street, may be fined for non-compliance of an enforcement order by North Herts District Council – with the authority’s legal services team preparing a prosecution.
A spokesman for the authority said: “North Hertfordshire District Council, Planning Control and Conservation served an enforcement notice which required the owners of the Banyers Hotel to remove a marquee together with ancillary items. Due to non-compliance with the enforcement notice NHDC Legal Services have been instructed to prepare a prosecution against the Banyers Hotel.
“It is anticipated that this matter will be listed for hearing at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court in the near future.”
