A charity which supports firefighters will be set to benefit from a fundraising tabletop sale and craft fair at Royston Fire Station tomorrow.
The event will be held between 10am to 1pm and will cost £10 per pitch. There will be a variety of sellers and teas and coffees will be served up for punters. Firefighters will also be available to discuss fire safety in the home over the summer period and provide advice about the installation of smoke detectors.
Proceeds will be given to the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund, a charity which provides assistance to serving and retired personnel, their widows and widowers and young dependants through the provision of sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, rehabilitation and therapy, and financial support for those who need it.
Marion Smith, who is arranging the event with Alexa Allen, said: “It is for such a worthy cause and would help to say thank you to those brave men and women who often risk their own lives to save ours.”
