TRAFFIC has built up around Royston today as motorists look to avoid a huge collision on the M11.

Officers were called shortly before 10am this morning following reports that a heavy good vehicle, four cars and a coach had been involved in the incident on the northbound carriageway, between junction eight (Bishop’s Stortford) and ten (Duxford).

Four people, a man and a woman who were trapped on the coach and received fractures to their legs and a man and woman in separate cars who have minor neck and back injuries, were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Since then, delays on the A505 westbound towards Royston have been severe, as has the A10 northbound.

Motorists are set to try and avoid the M11 and divert towards Royston on the A10 northbound until the roads are clear.
