The father of two young budding actors from Royston is hoping that people in the town get on board the theatre express to watch them shine on the London stage.
Andrew Lambie’s daughter Daisy, who celebrated her 10th birthday last week, and son Oliver, who will be 12 next week, are among the cast featuring in The Railway Children at King’s Cross Theatre.
Andrew, a chemistry teacher at St Christopher School in Letchworth, said: “It is a lovely production with many excellent actors including Shaun Williamson and Caroline Harker, and so easy to get to from Royston.”
Daisy studies at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School where Oliver was also a pupil before he started at St Christopher last September.
Andrew said: “Oliver was a very eye-catching Widow Twanky in last year’s Year 6 pantomime of Aladdin.
“Daisy throws herself into anything and everything – this is testament to her resilience as she has suffered from juvenile rheumatoid arthritis for the past seven years.
“She is thankfully in remission while on a course of powerful drugs and we await to see which way her condition goes.

“At St Chris there are plenty of opportunities for Oliver to do more acting, but the current appearance at King’s Cross is plenty for the time being.
“Both my wife Rachel and I are immensely proud of both of them and seeing them on stage in this wonderful production is enough to bring a tear to the eye.”
Daisy has been in the show since October and plays one of Mr Perks’ daughters Frances and the young Phyllis – she even has a couple of lines which get a laugh.
Oliver joined the production in January and plays a young lad called Thomas and sometimes gets to go on the full-sized steam train which is one of the highlights of the long-running show.
The run of the successful production, which has already been extended once, has been extended again and auditions will soon be held to find new young cast members. If you’d like to catch the show, search for The Railway Children on ATG Tickets.
