The family and friends of a 20-year-old Royston woman who died from sudden cardiac death are completing their final preparations to run a race on Sunday in her memory.
Julie, dad Steve and sister Charlotte will take on the Great South Run in Portsmouth with Jo and Andy Tunnicliffe and Veronica Espinar in memory of Nicola who died in 2007 while out celebrating her birthday.
So far they have raised £800.
“We would love to reach £1,000,” said Julie.
“All money raised and any future donations will help in funding a researcher at Papworth Hospital to find out why so many under 35s are dying from this silent killer.”
There is a sponsor form in No.3 Royston craft shop in Melbourn Street or donations can be made online at www.thenicolaemmersontrust.co.uk.
