A Royston company has triumphed in a prestigious award seen as a key barometer of the UK’s business success and confidence.

Chemicals organisation Johnson Matthey, the world’s largest producer of automotive catalytic converters, has topped Management Today magazine’s annual Britain’s Most Admired Companies award.

The company beat big names such as McDonalds and easyJet to win.

MT’s editor Matthew Gwyther said: “Johnson Matthey is possibly our least well-known winner.

“Its ascent through the ranks shows slow and steady can ultimately win the race.”
