ROYSTON Leisure Centre celebrated the one year anniversary of the London Olympics at the weekend.

Children and adults were able enjoy the centre’s facilities during a free taster session on Saturday.

James Moore, sales manager at the leisure centre, said: “The day went really well. We had a lot of people turn up throughout the day. The swimming pool was full to the brim. I’ve never seen it so full. The success of the day will definitely encourage us to do more taster sessions and open days in the future.”

The day’s activities ranged from swimming, cycling and an Olympic gym challenge, as well as organised games for children.

Stevenage Leisure Limited organised the open day in partnership with North Herts District Council, with the aim of reigniting some of the enthusiasm for sport that the Olympic Games generated in 2012.
