POLICE are searching for the owner of a Rottweiler dog that attacked a 14-year-old boy and his puppy. The dog caused numerous puncture wounds to the terrier puppy before turning on the child, in the Burns Road area in Royston. The Rottweiler was not on a lead at the time. The young boy required hospital treatment and the dog had to be taken to a veterinary surgery. Police say the owner was aware of the attack. Police are appealing for the owner or whoever was walking the Rottweiler to contact them, or of any witnesses to the incident. A man believed to be accompanying the dog was described as white, 55-60 years old and above 6ft. He had grey hair and was wearing a green jacket. The dog has been described as a large black/tan Rottweiler, with no collar. The attack took place at about 1pm on Saturday, January 14. - Anyone with information should call Royston police on 01992 533002 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
