To produce a successful play based on one of the most well-known musicals of modern times was a massive achievement for pupils at The Meridian School in Royston.
Les Miserables which took nine months to produce, showcased many talented young individuals, and was enjoyed by all who saw it in November.
Alan Pooley, who played the lead role of Jean Valjean, particularly stood out, and was described as 'mesmerising 'by Crow editor Les Baker.
At the school's presentation evening in December, headteacher Dr Michael Firth said: "It was a magical performance which captured the imagination.
