YET another car has crashed on a bend notorious for speeding and accidents in Meldreth.

Police and ambulances were called at 4.10pm on Sunday when a Peugeot 206 left the road and ended up in a ditch on North End.

Both the woman driver and a passenger suffered slight injuries.

The bend has a 30mph speed limit.

But residents say their lives are at risk by motorists ignoring the restrictions.

In February, The Crow reported how one resident has had his property damaged six times in the past 15 years.

This included the front garden wall being smashed twice, a garden hedge being destroyed three times and telephone wires were even ripped out after a car drove into a telephone post.

Pauline Harper, who lives on the bend, said: "People do take the corner too fast and it is local people who are the worst.

"They were talking about straightening it but it will only make it worse."

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire County Council said: "There have only been slight injuries in collisions on the road and so it doesn't fit the criteria as being a dangerous road.

"If residents have any issues they are welcome to get in touch with us so that we can investigate them."

Residents have voiced their concerns to both the parish council and the county council.
