ANGRY residents were expected to meet with councillors and Cambridgeshire Highways last night (Wednesday) to call for action to prevent further flooding in Melbourn.
In recent months, thousands of pounds of damage has been caused to peoples' homes as a result of severe flooding in the village.
Areas which have fallen victim to the floods include The Moor, Green-banks and the High Street.
Blocked drains and pipes with insufficient capacity are to blame for the problem.
However, a £50,000 programme of improvements to correct these problems was expected to be discussed at the meeting.
Those who were expected to attend the public meeting included South Cambridgeshire MP Andrew Lansley, Melbourn parish councillors and Michael Oakington, divisional maintenance engineer for South Cambridgeshire Highways.
