RESIDENTS took matters into their own hands when they realised public toilets were not working last weekend.
Derek Emblem, of Royston, was walking past Royston bus station on Saturday when he noticed the toilets were broken.
He told regular Royston campaigner Terry Hutt, of Whaddon, and the pair got to work in unblocking the drain.
“I wondered why they were not working, so thought I would enquire as to why,” said Mr Emblem. “It turns out they could be easily fixed so we did it.”
Mr Hutt said: “It’s always good to have a community pull together to solve a problem.”
