A Meldreth nurse is putting the finishing touches to plans for her son Rory’s first birthday bash in aid of the refugee crisis.
Amanda Smith will be asking for donations at the door of the fundraiser at Meldreth Village Hall on Sunday from 10am, to help those who are left with no home due to conflict in their home country.
There will be an appearance from a Mr Tumble lookalike, a cake stall, bouncy castle and face painting. There will also be a raffle with prizes for the likes of The Jolly Postie and Shepreth Wildlife Park, as well as hampers from Tesco and Co-op. Amanda will be collecting on behalf of the British Red Cross, which helps people in emergency situations at home and abroad.
She will not be taking donations of warm gloves or socks as previously planned due to the expense of sending them, but will be raising cash.
