Chocolate lovers in South Cambs are being reminded to think green and recycle extra plastic, cardboard and foil from eggs this Easter.

All of these materials can be recycled in households’ blue bins – but South Cambs District Council is also urging people to remember that collection days will change due to the bank holidays.

Extra waste generated in the UK at Easter is equivalent to the weight of around 600 double decker buses, and the district council want people to do their bit and recycle as much as possible.

And those planning on a bank holiday spring clean are also encouraged to visit one of Cambridgeshire’s nine household waste recycling centres to re-use and recycle their unwanted items.

The centres are open over the Easter and bank holiday weekends and you can find out more at the website www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk.

Go to www.scambs.gov.uk/services/bins for bin collection date changes for the bank holiday period in the South Cambs district.
