ARCHANT Herts & Cambs - the publishing house behind The Crow - is set to run a new event revolving around the recruitment and human resources industry in Hertfordshire.
The first Hertfordshire Recruitment Awards will take place later this year following the success of similar events run by Archant in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Celebrating the hard work and talent of recruitment agencies and teams within the industry, the awards mean Hertfordshire finally gets to put its HR and recruitment stars in the spotlight.
Organising the event, Caroline Hyde, manager of special projects for Archant Herts & Cambs, said: "Successful recruitment is the lifeblood of any great company and through these awards we hope to reward those people who are making significant contributions to this process.
"This gives us a great opportunity to recognise both individuals and companies which have made a real difference to recruitment in Hertfordshire over the past 12 months, and also to raise the profile of recruitment generally in the county."
She continued: "We launched the Cambridgeshire Recruitment Awards last autumn and were impressed by the involvement and response from the recruitment and HR industries. The Recruitment and Employment Confederation has approached us to launch a similar event in Hertfordshire.
"The awards are a celebration of best practice in various areas of recruitment, and we hope they will stimulate communication and new ideas throughout the industry on a local level.
"We are currently finalising the categories and securing sponsors for the event, and hope to officially launch at the end of May."
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), the professional association that represents the recruitment industry in the UK, are the overall sponsors of the event. Business Link Hertfordshire has also added its support to the event, along with companies PPC and Phoenix Creative Design.
There is still the opportunity for companies to be part of the prestigious event as sponsors - and anyone interested should call Carol Gray on 01438 866051 or e-mail carol.gray@archant. co.uk
The awards will be open to anyone that either recruits personnel or advertises recruitment in Hertfordshire.
Launching at the end of May, the event will culminate in a glittering awards evening at the end of August. The evening will include a champagne reception, three-course meal and entertainment to be held at Tewin Bury Farm, near Welwyn.
