AS SCHOOLCHILDREN prepare for

the end of term, Christmas plays

have been taking place across Crow

Country.

St Mary's School, Royston, held

theirs last week, as did Reed First

School.

Both of these were in the traditional

Nativity form.

Youngsters in Reed are also being

encouraged to attend the Christmas

Eve family service at St Mary's

Church in the village.

The Rev Sarah Hillman said: "The

Christmas Eve crib service is aimed

at families with young children.

"It's a short service based around

the retelling of the Christmas story,

and the building of the crib.

"It's normally very well attended,

so do come and join us for a lovely

way of remembering God's gift of a

child to the world, and celebrate.
