MONEY raised at St Mary's School harvest festival is being sent to help children in Uganda.
The school, in Melbourn Road, Royston, raised £616 during the harvest period.
It is donating the money to the Kanyike Project, which supports people in the Mpigi region of Uganda.
Sister Joan Yates, who works with the Kanyike Project, visited the school this week to talk to the children and receive a cheque from head teacher Robert Dunbar.

Mr Dunbar said: "We set out to raise £481 to cover the cost of buying gardening equipment for a school which is part of the Kanyike project, so we actually ended up with more than we were hoping for.
"We'd like to establish an ongoing link with Kanyike project, so the children are going to be writing letters to pupils at the school in Uganda."

Sister Yates, who travels to Uganda every two years, said: "We're delighted to have the support of St Mary's.
"I've already spoken to Father Kakuba Kapia, who runs the project in Uganda. He said they are going to keep the gardening equipment until the end of term and give it to the children then as an early Christmas present.
"Many of them won't get any other gifts at Christmas so I'm sure they will be really pleased to receive it.
