School children got a chance to find out what it’s like to to be a fire fighter when they visit Royston fire station.
The pupils from Bassingbourn Primary School’s reception class visited the station as part of their topic for the term, people who help us.
Jane Holcroft, Early Years Leader at the school, said: “They had a chance to ask the firefighters questions and try on their uniforms.
“Every child had a go at squirting the hoses at a target and then all had a ride on the fire engine with sirens going and lights flashing - it was all very exciting for eveyone involved.”
She added: “Many thanks to the fire fighters who gave up time out of their busy day, we had a very memorable time and the children produced some fabulous writng, drawings and paintings as a consequence.”
