New garden opened

CHILDREN can explore their senses at a new garden at a village school.

The Reed first school sensory garden was opened by North East Herts MP Oliver Heald on Saturday.

Alison Thomas, the school’s head teacher, said: “The garden is designed so that visitors can test all their senses, such as touch, sight, and smell.

“We wanted to undertake a community project at the school, and the garden we’ve come up with should be suitable for everyone to visit, from toddlers to the elderly.”

The garden was funded thanks to a grant from the Extended Schools initiative, and also by money raised by the school PTA and Friends of Reed School.
