Former students of Bassingbourn Village College gathered to receive their GCSE certificates and to be rewarded for their efforts during their courses.

Prizes were awarded for each subject area. Elspeth Davies took the chemistry, food and Spanish prizes while Emma Lindsey claimed the honours in biology, French, and physics.

Lauren Pocknell won the geography prize and also received the principal’s award for contribution to college life for Shakespeare College.

Cameron Bonfield took the principal’s award for Luther King College, David Coleman for Keller College and Emma Lindsey for Moore College.

GCSE results this year were some of the best the college has posted, with 72 per cent of students achieving A*-C grades including English and maths, 90 per cent scoring A*-C in English and 77 per cent attaining A*-C in maths.
