Under-13s Division Two
Hatfield 3 Royston Town Youth 3
IN a very hard fought game Royston came back from behind twice to earn a share of the spoils.
After a sloppy first 30 minutes where Royston conceded two goals, they came to life with a goal on the stroke of half time from Liam Price who beat three defenders before touching the ball past the 'keeper.
The second half was much better although Hatfield scored a breakaway goal to lead 3-1.
Price was then fouled in the area and he stepped up to score from the resulting penalty. He completed his hat trick with 15 minutes to go after a powerful run through the defence.
The game was then end-to-end with both teams looking for the winner.
Jack Watts in the Royston goal was outstanding as he produced some excellent saves to keep Hatfield out.
Royston too could have won the game but their finishing deserted them at crucial times. There were also good performances from captain Jack Freeman, Jack Jefferis and Sam Edney.
