Pupils at a pre-school in Steeple Morden had the perfect excuse to snuggle up in their PJs during school hours in support of children who suffer from brain injuries.

Youngsters from Smarties in Hay Street took part in Humphrey’s Pyjama Week to help raise money for The Children’s Trust, which provides care for children and young people with brain injuries.

There were plenty of party games, cake baking and a party lunch to help drum up funds for the charity.

Pre-school leader Tracey Tustian said: “It went really well.

“We raised £45 and the children had a really lovely time.

“ Everyone really enjoyed themselves.

“They enjoyed seeing all of us adults in our PJs. They thought it was quite funny.

“The parents were joking with us, saying ‘did you forget to get dressed this morning?’”

Smarties Pre-School is open each weekday during term times.

It is run for children from two years old from rooms behind Steeple Morden Primary School.
