PRE-SCHOOL children have been getting very excited after receiving a letter from the Queen.

The youngsters from Litlington Pre-School made a placemat and sent it to the Queen and Prince Philip to commemorate their diamond wedding anniversary.

And in return for their gift they were sent a letter of thanks, along with a brochure from Buckingham Palace.

Play leader Rosy Taylor said: "The staff have been emphasising how important the letter and brochure are.

"The children liked all the bits that were sent, and one little boy was quite excited, saying 'It's from the Queen'.
